Mayan World´s Birds Expedition (1 day)

For lovers of Bird Watching and Photography, we recommend visiting the wetlands and high jungle of Parque Nacional Laguna del Tigre that, from the comfort and tranquility of the Estacion Biológica Las Guacamayas, you can to observe or photograph a great diversity of resident and migratory species.

ITINERARY

6.00 am Transfer to Estación Biológica Las Guacamayas, during the route we will observe, savanna birds and pastures such as: White-Tailed Kite, Greay Hawk, Fork- Tailed Flycatcher, Vermilion Flycatcher, Pinneated bittern, some times and lucky Jabiru, and more, also this area is ideal for photography.

After a couples of hours birding on the way, time to have a wonderful welcome lunch, just after luch from a comfortable chair and accompanied by a delicious Guatemalan coffee, we can continue to observe birding in front of the deck: Red-capped Manakin, Red-Legged Honeycreeper, Long-tailed Hermit, Wedge-tailed sabrewing, Scaly brested hummingbird and others.

2:30 p.m. time to continue

Option 1: Bird watching along the trails of Las Guacamayas, looking for Slaty-tailed trogon, collared trogon, Tody motmot, northern schiffornis, and other species of primary forest.

Option 2. Observation from the comfortable boat through the Sacluk River. We are looking for savannah species and oak forests such as: Green Jay, Yucatan jay, Agami Heron, Sungrebe and others.

4.30 pm Back to Flores.
